High performance, low cost, brush DC servo motors designed for a variety of general and high performance motion control applications. Our products range from 0.86" - 4" in diameter with continuous torques up to 28 in-lb. Cost effective planetary gearheads are available to meet application specific speed and torque requirements. Our unique cartridge brush assembly reduces audible and electrical noise and significantly improves brush life by maintaining optimum brush force throughout the life of the motor.
A brushless DC (BLDC) motor derives its "brushless" distinction from the motor's unique design, which requires no point of electrical or mechanical contact between the source voltage and the rotating component of the motor. Because there is no point of electromechanical contact in brushless motors they are virtually maintenance free, and motor life is limited only by the life of the rotor bearings. Additionally, because there is very low or no electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI), brushless motors can be utilized in sensitive or explosive environments.
What is slotless ???
Most brushless DC motors are designed using the conventional 'slotted' stator. The slotted stator is a lamination that has a series of teeth, with slots between the teeth into which the stator windings are inserted. The slotless design consists of a basket winding inserted into a ring lamination containing no teeth or slots.
Advantages of slotless motors are:
High performance 2-phase and 5-phase stepping motor, driver and controller packages are suitable for high precision positioning control. Stepping motors are capable of highly precise and reliable operation without the use of position detectors. Motor operation is controlled directly through pulse signals, causing the motor to rotate in steps at fixed angles.
Motor/driver packages are factory matched to provide optimal performance and easy installation.
