AC Brushless (sinusoidal)
These amplifiers are designed to drive AC brushless motors and linear AC motors with sine wave currents at a high switching frequency. There are three basic design:

- Amplifiers with internal commutation accept a single ±10V current command input, simplifying the controller interface. For sinusoidal commutation, higher resolution position feedback must now be provided to the amplifier than is available from digital Halls. Analog Halls offer a very cost-effective solution
- For optimal velocity control and low torque ripple, sinusoidal commutation is the technology of choice. For controllers which generate a commutated current command, the UV configured amplifier accepts commutated current commands for two of the three motor phases. The third phase current (W) is derived internally.
- Many motors come with resolver feedback instead of an encoder. The resolver is not only used for commutation but also feedback. These amplifiers take the resolver feedback and convert the signal to an encoder output, which is sent to the motion controller.
